My garden apartment is on the Patuxent River and is really nice. I have been here since 1995. I have over an acre of garden, comprised of hundreds of flowering plants. Equally important is the large number of visiting diurnal and nocturnal critters: the beautiful ruby-throated hummingbird who visited for three years me on the porch and actually sat and rested nearby; the countless other birds; the two red fox families; the raccoons and the possums. The magnificent ground hogs, one of whom was for a couple of years (along with her baby one year) a friend of my cat Pushkin ... they sat in the grass and took the sun together! And of course there are the deer, the owls and ... a lot of other visitors!

The garden brings me much pleasure. It is a beautiful place to sit and think or just gaze out into and get lost in. Sometimes just working in it can be a relaxing place to be.

Even in Winter, it is interesting, but not as colorful as the rest of the year.

For several years, the garden has been recognized with various awards and Dave was inducted into the Horticultural Hall of Fame for his skills in meditational weed-pulling!
